After an early pick-up from your accommodation, your adventure begins with a scenic 2-hour drive to the stunning Ek Balam archaeological zone. Once there, as you explore this ancient Mayan city, you’ll be transported back in time to a world filled with towering pyramids, intricate carvings, and fascinating historical artifacts. Your expert private guide will take you on a journey through this fascinating site, sharing valuable knowledge and insights into the culture and traditions of the ancient Mayan people.
After experiencing the wonder of Ek Balam, we’ll head to the breathtaking Ría Lagartos, an outstanding natural reserve and a paradise for nature lovers included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2004. This serene sanctuary is home to a variety of rare and exotic wildlife and over 380 species of birds. If you’re lucky, you’ll have the chance to see beautiful flamingos and impressive crocodiles.
Here, you’ll have the opportunity to take a boat ride through the lush mangroves and witness the incredible beauty of the Yucatan’s diverse flora and fauna. You’ll be awed by the stunning landscapes and mesmerized by the sounds of the exotic animals that call this place home.

DEPARTURE LOCATION AND TIME
To avoid crowds, the default departure times for this tour are 06:00, 07:00, and 08:00 AM , but we can also adjust them per your request. Our guide will pick you up from your accommodation at the requested time and might need to contact you by phone. Therefore, please kindly provide a valid phone number during your booking. Complimentary pick-up and drop-off from Riviera Maya (Cancun-Tulum zone) are included: please indicate the time and location for a pick-up during your booking (e.g. in the "Special Requirements" field).
TOUR DURATION AND CUSTOMIZATION
The standard duration of the tour counts from the moment of pick-up till drop-off. At the same time, the tour is customizable which means we can adjust the time you spend in each destination. Also, if you want to visit an extra location (attraction/restaurant/market, etc.), you can do it on a complimentary basis if this visit (1) fits the default duration of the tour and (2) doesn't involve a major change of the route. Other changes such as extending the tour duration, changing the route, and adding extra participants, should be communicated to the Company at least 48 hours before the tour and might involve an extra fee.
WHAT TO TAKE WITH YOU
Comfortable clothes and shoes; hat/cap, sunglasses, and sunscreen; swimming suit and towel; travel insurance, personal ID; some cash, good mood, and curiosity. Notes The type of vehicle depends on the size of your group and may include car, 7-seater, or minivan. This is a private tour: only your group will participate. Travelers should have a basic physical fitness condition. The total duration of the tour depends on your pick-up location and varies from about 10 h (from Tulum and Playa del Carmen) to 11 h (from Cancun).
