The three-hour education experience includes: a presentation in our Dreaming Amphitheatre inclusive of 3D map interpretation a live Aboriginal dance performance and ochre anointment a guided walk to the ancient midden located on the Dreaming Mountain, Jellurgal an art workshop where students will design and paint their own piece of Aboriginal Art to take home.
During the tour, guests will learn: Aboriginal stories and Dreamtime legends relevant to the areas visited ecological practices of traditional landowners cultural awareness and cross-cultural sensitivity native flora and fauna and its relevance to the lifestyle and day-to-day practices of the people who inhabited the mountain thousands of years ago.
Suggested Itinerary (subject to change/alteration)
9.30 am Arrival at Jellurgal Aboriginal Cultural Centre
9.45 am Amphitheatre presentation of traditional life
10 am Live Aboriginal dance performance
10.20 am Aboriginal art workshop on the verandah
11.20 am Guided walk along Tallebudgera Creek and Burleigh Headland including Ochre Anointment Ceremony, significant sites and Dreaming stories.
12.30 pm Return to Jellurgal Aboriginal Cultural Centre, collect artwork, farewell and departure.
Bookings are extremely popular, please book at least two months in advance to avoid disappointment.
